HELVELLYN VIA STRIDING EDGE

Helvellyn, located in the Lake District National Park is one of the most renowned peaks in the country, standing at 3,117 feet (950 meters). It is the third highest mountain in England and is celebrated not only for its height but also for its stunning views and diverse walking routes. 

One of the most famous routes to the summit of Helvellyn is via Striding Edge, a dramatic and often thrilling ridge walk that presents both a challenge and spectacular views. Striding Edge runs along the eastern side of Helvellyn and is characterized by its steep, narrow ridge and rugged terrain. For many hikers, traversing Striding Edge is an exhilarating experience, requiring careful footing and sometimes scrambling. The ridge offers breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding fells and lakes, making it a highlight of many hiking itineraries.

Once we reach the summit of Helvellyn, we can enjoy a panoramic view that encompasses many other peaks in the Lake District, including the impressive Skiddaw and the distinctive shape of the Fairfield Horseshoe. The summit is marked by a prominent stone shelter.
